Meta’s Yann LeCun says worries about A.I.’s existential threat are ‘complete B.S.’
Meta’s AI chief Yann LeCun dismissed concerns about artificial intelligence posing an existential threat, calling it "complete B.S."
In a Wall Street Journal interview, LeCun argued that current AI, including large language models, lacks core abilities like reasoning, memory, and real-world understanding.
He believes AGI (artificial general intelligence) is far from reality and will require new approaches, such as those his team is exploring with real-world video analysis.
In the latest move against WP Engine, WordPress takes control of the ACF plugin
In a WordPress showdown, founder Matt Mullenweg took WP Engine’s popular plug-in, Advanced Custom Fields, and rebranded it as Secure Custom Fields.
Mullenweg claims this was to fix security issues and remove ads, while WP Engine says the plug-in was taken without consent.
Both sides are throwing legal punches, with Mullenweg even calling WP Engine a “cancer to WordPress.” Now, Secure Custom Fields is offered as a free alternative. Looks like the drama is far from over!

4. Insight of the Week: Flywheel Strategy 💡
The traditional sales funnel has become outdated. The flywheel model introduced by Hubspot in 2018 offers SaaS founders a better approach by focusing on continuous customer engagement rather than one-time acquisition.
It can help you with
Sustained Momentum: Unlike the funnel, the flywheel keeps spinning, driven by happy customers who bring referrals and repeat business.
Reduced Friction: Identifying and minimizing friction in the customer journey ensures faster growth.
Personalized Engagement: With 80% of customers more likely to engage with companies offering personalized experiences, SaaS founders must focus on delighting current customers to foster loyalty and advocacy.
The flywheel’s continuous motion and customer-centric approach can be the key to long-term, scalable growth.
5. Growth Idea of the Week: A simple framework to improve your existing funnel
Early-stage SaaS companies are focused on new growth opportunities, often overlooking the potential of their existing marketing and sales funnels.
Without a clear understanding of your funnel, it’s hard to pinpoint where the bottlenecks are. In fact, 68% of companies haven't even evaluated their sales funnels, resulting in 79% of marketing leads never being converted.
This can lead to missed revenue and wasted resources.
Optimizing your existing funnel can solve this problem. Start by creating a visual representation of the entire customer journey, measuring performance at each stage monthly. Identify quick wins in the weakest areas and double down on your best-performing stages. This approach can yield immediate results while helping you understand customer behavior better.
This can help you drive more predictable growth. With a well-mapped funnel, you can accurately forecast performance and see how small improvements can lead to significant increases in conversion rates.
That's all for this week!
We hope you find these insights valuable and actionable as you continue your journey. As always, Liberate Labs is here to help you accelerate growth and scale smarter.
Until next time,
